Who knew creating a website from scratch could be so much work? Expect to see a lot more content from us going forward.
LevelCodex has been available for a few months now, mostly as a source of information on Elder Scrolls Blades, Anthem and Apex Legends. We’ve always had larger goals for the website, however. Instead of making a WordPress or Wiki, we decided we wanted our own custom coded website suited to our exact needs. Since the beta version was launched, we have gathered a ton of feedback and re-coded large sections of the website accordingly. Today, LevelCodex takes the next step toward its goal.
First and foremost, our primary focus is our Codexes.
A Codex is a multi-paged game guide that cover almost every aspect of the game. They contain similar information to what you would find on a Wiki. However, unlike those Wikis, Codexes are custom-built to suit each game’s needs, and are written and maintained by a dedicated staff instead of users. Unfortunately, there isn’t enough time in the day for us to make a Codex for every game, and are limited to only select titles. This is where our guide section comes in, however. Guides are much smaller, and generally only discuss a single aspect of a game.
From the start, we already knew we didn’t want to be straight up a news blog. There are far too many other many websites for you to visit, in that regard. Adding to that pile of news & trailer posting website won’t be all that interesting.
This does not mean, however, that we will never cover news; We will be covering ones significant enough that readers ought to be aware of, in a controlled manner. Our editorial content will instead be focused on game facts, trivia, and anything else we ourselves (the editors) find interesting.
Note: We got ears wide open for anything you find interesting, and would like us to cover.
Tomorrow is the Pokémon Direct, with announcements on Sword and Shield. This just so happens to be the next game we are making a Codex for! You can expect an early version our Pokémon Sword and Shield Codex to be live in the next day or two.
That’s all for now, folks!
